Directions

  1. For Marinade: Grind all ingredients together (except green onion and sesame seeds), then bring to a boil and cool.
  2. Add chopped green onion and sesame seeds.
  3. Use to marinate the meat.
  4. For Salsa: Mix the salsa ingredients together.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste and set aside.
  6. For Ribs: Soak short ribs inmarinade for a minimum of 4 hours to get the flavor incorporated.
  7. Remove meat from marinade and grill it until caramelizes a little, a couple minutes on each side.
  8. Serve with steamed jasmine rice and a healthy portion of salsa and enjoy!

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, for marinade.
  • 1 cup Water, for marinade.
  • 1/4 cup Mirin, for marinade.
  • 1 Asian Pear, for marinade.
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil, for marinade.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds, for marinade.
  • 1 cup White Soy Sauce, for marinade.
  • 1/4 cup Sambal, for marinade.
  • 1 Large, Sweet Onion, for marinade.
  • 1/4 cup Garlic, for marinade.
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Green Onion, for marinade.
  • 2 Mangos (peeled and deseeded, then medium dice), for salsa.
  • 1 Sweet Onion, medium dice, for salsa.
  • 2 bunches Cilantro, chopped fine, for salsa.
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste), for salsa.
  • 4 Tomatoes, medium dice, for salsa.
  • 1 Jalapeño, small dice, for salsa.
  • 1 Lime, juiced, for salsa.
  • 5 lbs Thin-cut Bone-in Short Ribs.
