Andouille Sausage Mac & Cheese - Aidells®

Directions
- Heat Andouille Sausage in a skillet for 8-10 minutes until heated through. Remove the sausage from the skillet, and set aside
- Boil salted water and stir in macaroni according to box instructions. Cook until Al dente (firm but not hard)
- Preheat an oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add onion; cook 5 min until translucent. Whisk in flour and cook 2–3 min, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in milk and cream. Simmer 2 min, then whisk in cheddar until smooth and hot
- Pour the macaroni into the cheese sauce, and stir to combine. Add in the Sausage, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper
- Spoon the macaroni mixture into the prepared baking dish, and sprinkle the bread crumbs over the top. Bake for about 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the crumbs are brown and bubbling. Let stand for 15 minutes after baking, to set before serving

- 1/3 cup ea Urban Meadow® butter
- 1 ea small onion
- 3 tbsp ea Urban Meadow® all purpose flour
- 1 cup ea Urban Meadow® milk
- 1/2 cup ea Urban Meadow® heavy cream
- 4 cup ea Urban Meadow® cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 tsp ea cayenne pepper
- 1 cup ea Urban Meadow® bread crumbs
- to taste ea Urban Meadow® salt and pepper
