Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil
  2. Meanwhile in a large skillet, add olive oil and saute onion for about 5 minutes over medium heat
  3. Turn the heat to high, then add mushrooms. Brown for about 5 more minutes
  4. Add vodka and reduce completely. Stir in cream and tomato puree, then bring to a simmer. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes
  5. Cook pasta according to packaging directions. Drain and toss with sauce, then stir in cheese and parsley right before serving

  • 1 ea box of Barilla Al Bronzo Fusilli pasta
  • 4 tbsp ea extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup ea yellow onion, diced
  • 10 ea shitake mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/2 cup ea vodka
  • 1 cup ea heavy cream
  • 1 ea 20 oz can tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp ea parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup ea Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
  • Red pepper flakes ea to taste
  • Salt and black pepper ea to taste
